RedGate Park and Arboretum
Features
RedGate Park and Arboretum, the ultimate nature getaway, is located on Avery Road at the site of the former RedGate Golf Course, which the Mayor and Council voted unanimously in March 2020 to keep as a 131-acre public park. It is currently in the process of becoming a formally designed park and arboretum, according to the RedGate Park and Arboretum Master Plan.
As the largest park in the city, there’s plenty of room to stretch your legs. Whether you’re walking, running, or biking along the paved trails, you’ll pass scenic fields, shady trees, and serene ponds—perfect for spotting wildlife and soaking in the peaceful vibe. Benches and picnic tables are scattered throughout, inviting you to take a break and enjoy the view. With bike racks and ample parking, it’s easy to visit and reconnect with nature.
The 1-acre, fully fenced dog park is the perfect place for your dog to run and get some off-leash playtime! Waste stations are available for easy cleanup. Dogs are only allowed off-leash inside the dog park. Visit the Dog Parks page for rules and contact information in case of any animal-related issues.
